Why OnePlus Uses OPPO Service Centres for Repairs in India
OnePlus users in India have increasingly started to turn to OPPO service centres for repairs. The reason for this is not simply the acceptance of OPPO locations for OnePlus repairs but also the formal launch of the expanded network of OnePlus after-sales service in the country using the OPPO India service-centre network. In April 2026, OnePlus announced that in addition to over 600 authorized service centres operating in over 500 cities, including Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, customers will also enjoy unchanged warranties, software support, and other service commitments.
This helps explain why it is possible for a client to get in touch with OnePlus customer service, expect to locate a OnePlus service outlet, but end up with directions to an OPPO service facility. The branding, therefore, may be OPPO, although the service facility can still function within the OnePlus authorized service network.
Why is OnePlus using the OPPO service network?
The main reason OnePlus has publicly given is wider service coverage.
Maintaining a separate service infrastructure in every city is difficult, particularly when customers outside major metropolitan areas need repairs. By extending through OPPO’s existing network, OnePlus can provide authorised service access across more locations. OnePlus specifically says the expansion is intended to provide wider reach, shorter travel distances and deeper coverage in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.
OPPO already has a large service infrastructure in India. Its February 2026 announcement says the company has more than 570 service centres across 500+ cities and is continuing to expand its upgraded Service Centre 3.0 Pro network.
So the change is better understood as a service-network expansion, rather than simply replacing the OnePlus brand with OPPO at the repair counter.
Does an OPPO service centre automatically repair OnePlus phones?
No.
Making this distinction is important with regard to the fact that not every facility branded under OPPO should be automatically cited as belonging to OnePlus.
OnePlus explains that its broadening network is made up of OPPO India’s authorized service centers. These centers are supposed to comply with OnePlus service standards, provide authentic spares, and employ trained staff.
Therefore, if someone searches Google Maps for an OPPO service centre and chooses the nearest location, that alone is not enough. The specific location should be verified through the OnePlus service-centre system.
The question is not simply:
“Is this an OPPO service centre?”
It is:
“Is this particular location authorised to provide OnePlus service?”
That distinction can prevent customers from travelling to a location that cannot handle their device.
Why are some OnePlus stores redirecting customers to OPPO?
Not every OnePlus retail location is the same as the OnePlus service center.
A customer may visit a OnePlus store with the intention of getting their phone repaired, only to be directed to an OPPO location instead, as the authorized repair network in the area is now operating using the official OPPO network.
Recent user discussions show this happening in practice. In one discussion, a OnePlus Nord CE 5 owner was reportedly redirected from a OnePlus store to an OPPO service centre, where the customer was told that OnePlus devices would now be serviced there. This is a user-reported experience rather than an official explanation, but it reflects the type of situation customers are encountering.
The important point is that being redirected to an OPPO service centre does not by itself mean the customer has been sent to an unauthorised repair shop.
The biggest practical issue can be parts availability.
The network arrangement answers the issue regarding place of service; however, it does not imply every centre possesses the stored replacement parts.
This is essential with regard to display exchanges.
A current owner of the OnePlus 11 revealed that he had been to an OPPO service centre located in Gurgaon for issues regarding the green line displayed on the screen. As per the account of the customer, the service centre did not have the part required for repair, and the customer was asked to leave the phone there for days while waiting for the necessary part. It was also mentioned to him that another service centre, located much farther away, had the necessary component.
Another user in the same discussion reported a different experience: the required part became available the following day, and the display replacement was completed in about two hours.
These are individual customer experiences, not a standard OnePlus turnaround time. But the difference between them illustrates an important point: repair time can depend heavily on the particular location and whether the required part is available there.
That also explains why a customer may be told to wait several days even when the repair itself does not take several days.
Why can two service centres give different repair timelines?
A service centre may have the trained technician and the authority to repair a particular OnePlus model but still need to order the required component.
For an older device or a less frequently requested component, the part may not be sitting at every centre.
The recent OnePlus 11 discussion provides a good example. One customer was told that the required display was unavailable locally, while another customer reported receiving a replacement much faster at a different location. Another commenter suggested placing an order for the required part first rather than leaving the phone at the centre while waiting. These are customer experiences, so they should not be treated as an official OnePlus procedure or guaranteed timeframe.
This is also why “the service centre said it will take five days” does not necessarily mean the actual repair requires five days. Part procurement and repair time are two different things.
What happens when the OnePlus display part is unavailable?
Customers may be provided with various options according to the service location and support facilities.
In some cases, the center would generate a service order and requisition a part. The customer will come back for the part once it has arrived. In other cases, customers may need to send the device to the repair shop once the part arrives.
A recent client indicated that the service center took down their information, saying that they would be in touch once the part arrived. The consumer also faced challenges in contacting the center to check on any progress.
However, this does not mean that each OnePlus service centre, which is powered by OPPO, has similar problems in communication. Instead, it demonstrates a problem that can happen in cases where spare parts, appointments, and ways of communicating depend on one location.
What about OnePlus green-line repairs?
Here is where the transformation in the ways of providing service becomes interesting.
Currently, OnePlus has implemented a free replacement program for the display of eligible green line cases through the authorized channels.
According to its well-known policy regarding the program, the program is valid where eligible devices are purchased through the accredited distributors either online or offline.
This disclaimer excludes external influences and the human factor from repair possibilities and establishes the device’s condition at the service center as being decisive for the final decision concerning the service.
For a detailed explanation of the replacement policy, eligibility, and parts-related issues, see our OnePlus Green Line Screen Issue: Free Replacement & Service Guide.
The important distinction is that free replacement and immediate replacement are two different things. A customer can qualify for a free display replacement and still have to wait for the required display to reach the authorised service centre.
That difference is particularly relevant to older OnePlus models.
Does the OPPO network change OnePlus warranty coverage?
OnePlus has clearly stated that the previous warranties, software support, and service obligations remain unchanged following the expansion of its networking services.
Therefore, simply using an OPPO-powered authorized repair center for the repair does not mean that the phone will now fall under OPPO warranty.
The applicable warranty or special replacement policy remains a OnePlus policy. The service centre is the location through which that service is carried out.
For the technical reasons behind the green-line problem itself, see our Why Does OnePlus Green Line Issue Happen?. The article explains why a persistent green line is generally associated with the display hardware and why the timing of a software update does not automatically prove that the update caused the failure.

Can OnePlus customers use pickup-and-drop repair instead?
Sometimes, you may have access to a repair service where your devices are picked up, repaired, and brought back to you, depending on the programme and availability of service.
At the moment, OPPO provides such pick-up and delivery service all over India, where repair work can be based on many PIN codes and with different services like screen replacement or battery replacement.
A recent user discussion also included a OnePlus 11 owner who reported that an OPPO service centre did not resolve the green-line issue directly, while a pickup-and-drop service subsequently completed the repair within about a week. That is an individual experience, not a guaranteed OnePlus turnaround time.
Therefore, customers who cannot conveniently travel to a distant authorised centre can check whether a pickup-and-drop option is available for their location rather than assuming that an in-person visit is the only option.
How should you verify an OPPO service centre before visiting?
The simplest way is to refer to the list of OnePlus-approved service centres instead of just relying on the OPPO name outside the building or the Google Maps result that you have.
The latest service-network announcement from OnePlus encourages customers to use its service centre locator.
It is particularly imperative in case the customer service gives you one address and the results show another address. Before heading out to the location, double-check the exact destination and ask if the required part is available prior to your repair visit.
In the case of the customer getting a green-line replacement, the useful sequence becomes:
OnePlus support → authorised service-centre listing → confirm the exact location → ask about part availability → visit or use an available pickup-and-drop option.
The key difference in the OnePlus after-sales service network in India is not that “OPPO outlets are now repairing all OnePlus handsets” but that OnePlus has expanded its official service network via the OPPO India service centres. The service experience will still vary as per the customer’s location, the technician’s assessment, the availability of parts, and the channel used for repair.
